About the Role:


 


This opportunity will make you a part of Boston Scientific internship program that offers on-the-job training or project performed by university senior students at a company. The role will include activities provide Under supervisory direction, assist in the identification and pursuit of value improvement and waste elimination projects to support manufacturing and overhead areas in line with business goals and objectives.  Support manufacturing and other areas of the plant in the deployment and continuous application of lean principles and practices.


The internship will be for a period of up to 12 months and the student will receive a subsidy during their period on the company, during this time the student must be active in the university.


 


Your Responsibilities Include:


 



  • Prepare technical reports, analysis, recommendations and presentations reflecting the status and results of projects in progress on a regular basis.

  • Support to set up new equipment, ensure satisfactory operation, safety requirements are met and instruct others to use the equipment properly.

  • Write procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment. May also include assisting Operations in the training of operators to new procedures.

  • Take, preserve, analyze and provide follow up to units/samples. Use good laboratory practices to ensure accuracy of results. Look for the adequate help when needed and create the communication channels for the required support.

  • Coordinate and perform testing (proficient use of QA laboratory equipment as required) using correctly record data, write and review reports, and communicate results precisely to supervisor, promptly and in a timely manner.

  • Execution of routine laboratory work, metric updating, inventory control, chemical control, chemical preparation, support to internal laboratory project needs.


 


What We’re Looking For:           


 



  • Active student of at least 70% of the degree and currently enrolled in the university in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

  • English Level desired: 60%.

  • Desirable knowledge in: Knowledge in use of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Metallography, Cross section, Microsoft Office Basic, laboratory experience, ability to read an interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Available for a temporary position (6-12 months).

  • Availability to complete 38 to 40 hours of internship per week.
