Job Purpose

Responsible for designing and building custom automation equipment and fixtures for medical device manufacturing. Must have a desire to learn and implement rapidly changing technology to deliver the best possible solution.

  • Provides hands-on design expertise for internal and external projects
  • Provides internal process analysis and recommendation for technical improvement
  • Works effectively with suppliers and internal resources to achieve project objectives

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs automation equipment and fixtures for new product development and transfer projects.
  • Uses GD&T to complete catheter assembly and sub-assembly drawings
  • Purchases, assembles and troubleshoots components and systems to ensure successful implementation and qualification in production.
  • Completes equipment, fixtures and device drawings within project timelines
  • Accurately reports and communicates progress and bottlenecks. Seeks additional resources when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • BS in Engineering required
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in automated equipment development.
  • Medical device industry experience required as a must.
  • Experience with CAD and SolidWorks for machine design.
  • Must demonstrate strong collaborative communication skills.
  • Must possess a strong general understanding of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and automated systems.
  • Must be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines from concept to production qualification using established HMC processes.
  • Must be able to draw on prior knowledge and experience and adapt to initiate effective solutions to problems at hand.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and creativity.
  • Must be able to perform independently.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be adaptive to change and willing to support a variety of work assignments to fulfill internal and external customer expectations.
  • Excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting (up to 35 pounds), bending, stooping, sitting, standing
