The Accountant will be responsible to maintain trial balances for operational and trust entities, as well as prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Their responsibilities also include recording financial transactions, analyzing financial trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. The position also reconciles key financial statement balances, as well as oversees bank reconciliation process, and overall trust accounting. .

What You'll Do:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains financial records for companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
• Maintains financial records for trust accounting
• Oversees bank reconciliation processing, and ensuring all cash transactions appropriately accounted
• Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
• Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
• Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
• Supports Financial Analysts in assisting in analysis of revenue and expense trends and variances to budgets/forecasts
• Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
• Secures financial information by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Preparation of documents for external and client audits
• Provides assistance in preparation of the operating and financial results of the business unit/region
• Champion company core values and other company programs
• Other duties as assigned

Education

University Degree or College Diploma in Finance or Accounting is required

Experience

• Experience of CR tax and Procomer (CR Free Trade Zone)
• Strong fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Experience with account reconciliation and analysis
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Previous experience in the collection or financial industry would be an asset
• Previous experience in ERP system is preferred

Certificates, Licenses, & Registration:

• Employees in these jobs must possess, or be working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
