The Buyer I is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services at competitive pricing, while maintaining quality standards and supporting operational continuity.
Review purchase requisitions for completeness; review support documentation, currency, payment terms, alignment of back up documentation to requisition and clarity of description.
Coordinate and follow up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
Create and place purchase orders.
Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of future potential issues.
Follow up on order according to purchase date and expedite material delivery or explore other possible options with supplier to avoid parts stock out.
Identify issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality issues and non-conformances with suppliers.
Manage inventory levels to ensure safety stock is maintained at appropriate levels, preventing excess inventory and material shortages.
Produce and develop relevant inventory and procurement reports on a regular basis to track and monitor various areas of performance.
Initiate, coordinate, and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery of all materials and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
Complete various transactions into ERP as required.
Identify and evaluate potential local suppliers to support business continuity when required.
Identify cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities through supplier negotiations, sourcing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Bachelor’s degree or advanced student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
0 – 1 year experience in manufacturing operations and/or supply chain; prior experience in a regulated environment (i.e. medical device, pharmaceutical) preferred.
Ability to work with diversified supplier base and high-mix production environment.
Cost accounting understanding/experience.
Strong team player capable of working individually as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Ability to build relationships at all levels within the internal organization and external suppliers / vendors.
Working knowledge of quality system requirements and compliance (e.g. traceability, QSRs, ISO, MDD requirements) preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
