Collaboration (UC) Engineer – Teams Rooms
About the Role
We are seeking a Collaboration (UC) Engineer – Teams Rooms to design, deploy, and operate enterprise video collaboration solutions across conference rooms, executive spaces, and hybrid work environments.
This role is responsible for delivering a reliable, high-quality global meeting experience, with a primary focus on Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), while supporting Zoom and Webex as needed. You will take ownership of collaboration services across a distributed enterprise, driving consistency, performance, and user experience at scale.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, standardizing, and improving conferencing environments globally.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Service Ownership
- Own Microsoft Teams Rooms (primary), with support for Zoom and Webex
- Configure and manage room systems, resource accounts, and calendaring
- Ensure consistent user experience across global meeting environments
Room & Device Engineering
- Design and deploy conferencing solutions using Poly (Polycom) and Logitech systems
- Define room standards (hardware, audio/video quality, user experience)
- Manage hardware lifecycle (firmware, refresh planning, vendor coordination)
Operations & Support (Tier 2/3)
- Troubleshoot room, device, and platform issues end-to-end
- Resolve audio/video quality and integration issues
- Develop monitoring and reporting to proactively manage environment health
Integration & Collaboration
- Partner with network teams to support QoS, bandwidth, and real-time media performance
- Align with identity and messaging teams for secure access
- Support integrations with workplace tools (room scheduling, signage)
Standards & Continuous Improvement
- Create runbooks, documentation, and deployment standards
- Enable regional IT teams to support global standards
- Drive improvements in reliability, scalability, and user experience
Required Experience
- Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR): Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and operating Teams Rooms (not just end-user/admin experience)
- AV Hardware (Poly / Logitech): Direct experience configuring, troubleshooting, and managing conferencing devices and firmware lifecycle
- Audio/Video & Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of A/V systems and real-time media concepts (latency, jitter, packet loss, QoS)
- Conference Room Lifecycle Ownership: Experience managing design, deployment, support, and refresh of conferencing environments
- Global / Multi-Site Experience: Experience supporting or deploying across multiple locations and working with distributed IT teams
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose issues across hardware, software, network, and cloud services
- English (Required): Fluent in spoken and written English, including the ability to support executive-level interactions and collaborate with global teams
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing Teams Rooms at scale
- Familiarity with monitoring, analytics, or device management platforms
- Exposure to ITIL-based operations
- Experience in global enterprise environments
- Vendor management and escalation experience
What This Role Is Not
- Not a Tier 1 helpdesk or basic AV support role
- Not limited to break/fix or single-site support
- Not a purely administrative Teams role without hardware ownership
