Job Title: Staff Accountant (DTC & E-commerce)

Contractor Fee: $2,700 - $3,000/month (USD)

Work Arrangement: Remote

About This Role:
We are hiring a Staff Accountant to support a high-growth US-based DTC eCommerce company. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate, audit-ready financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and managing day-to-day accounting operations across multiple revenue channels. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, visibility, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the end-to-end accounts payable (AP) process
• Prepare and assist in month-end close activities, including accruals and adjustments
• Ensure all financial records are aligned with US GAAP standards
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reconciliations
• Track and reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Assist in balance sheet reconciliations and account reviews
• Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and documentation
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for reporting
• Follow and enforce internal controls and approval processes
• Collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams as needed

Software/Platforms/Tools:

• QuickBooks (for accounting)
• Excel or Google Sheets
• Google Docs and GDrive
• Slack or Zoom
• Any inventory or ERP system (optional)

Qualifications:

• At least 3 to 5 years of freelancing or remote work experience
• Excellent written and verbal English communication (C1 or C2 level)
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping
• At least 1 year of experience in DTC or eCommerce environments
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and deadlines

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience working with multi-channel revenue streams
• Experience supporting audits or financial reporting processes

Shift Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, overlap with US EST or CST preferred
