The Financial Reporting Analyst supports financial reporting and analysis for the U.S. Advanced Wound Management (AWM) division. This role focuses on Gross-to-Net (GTN) processes specific to the medical device industry, including chargebacks, rebates, distribution fees, and returns.
The analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, supporting close activities, and providing insights into commercial performance across hospitals, distributors, and group purchasing organization (GPO) channels. This entry level role is well suited for a recent graduate or early career finance professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial analysis, reporting, planning, and revenue accounting.
The analyst will be responsible for preparing recurring reports, maintaining GTN data and assumptions, and assisting with monthly close and forecasting activities. The role partners closely with Finance, Accounting/Controller, Accounts Receivable and The Commercial teams and plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable net sales reporting.
What will you be doing?
Create and update GTN rebate rates for all AWM franchise. Periodical review of actual rates by analyzing actual expenses vs estimations, develop a solid analysis and propose any potential update. Be able to explain and develop the rational for the changes, having a clear understanding of Risks and Opps for each rate.
Develop an intimate understanding the impact any future business decision will have on the GTN space, to make this happen interactions with cross-functional teams are necessary. All proposals must be clearly explained and sustained by the finance team.
In the case of new products or business model changes, new rates need to be assessed and proposed to the team, including rigorous analysis to validate the rates and the decisions or direction the business takes impacts these rates.
Collaborate with cross functional team to review, explain and reply successfully internal and external audit queries around all this process.
Review monthly actual GTN accruals vs GTN estimation analysis done by Controller team. For this, understanding of the actual business situation of each brand plus the understanding of the estimation base is critical. Provide a clear explanation of any variation around each of the GTN concepts.
Monthly chargeback / DSA Fee analysis (and any other GTN concept) that secures AWM is paying on an accurate base. For this, cross functional work with other finance areas and commercial areas is critical. Any discrepancy should be evaluated and, if that is the case, speak with external parties to process any claim.
Perform the quarterly Chargeback approved vs paid recon, close interaction with Rebate financial area to understand the different data sources to get all the chargebacks that have paid and compare the data with all the chargebacks that have been approved. Each Q a robust reconciliation is expected.
Support Commercial Organization and Chargeback Manager through the following activities:
Provide month- end support (journal entries, cost center support, various executive reporting/presentations, etc.), including key account reconciliations and routine expense reporting.
Assist in preparing Sales Estimate Reporting by gathering data, updating templates, validating information, and ensuring consistency across reporting sources.
Support the preparation of Channel Inventory updates and Business Model updates by compiling data, maintaining trackers, and ensuring alignment with business partners.
Support the preparation of SOX controls for US AWM by assisting with data preparation and documentation updates
Support Business Planning Cycles, by assisting with data collection, template updates and preliminary analyses
Provide ad‑hoc analytical support, including updating financial models, dashboards, and conducting preliminary variance analysis.
Assist in the creation of executive presentations (Monthly Review Meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, MFR, and Strategy presentations) by providing data extracts, preparing visualizations, and ensuring accuracy of information presented.
This position is a P2 level.
What will you need to be successful?
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields required.
Experience: Experience in Finance/Analytics preferred, with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in the Healthcare industry, preferably medical equipment/devices.
Experience partnering with various functional teams including Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Pricing
Advanced skills in systems specifically Excel and PowerBI, preferably with knowledge of MS Power suite (PowerQuery etc)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with Microsoft Access a plus.
Experience of accounting matters, especially with knowledge of profit and loss accounts and their impact on balance sheet, cash flow statements.
Experience with SAP, Business Objects, and HFM systems is highly desirable but not required.
Ability to support the coordination of multiple data analysis requests, ensuring timely follow‑up and clear communication, while managing tasks of varying size and complexity with guidance from senior team members.
Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and goals with firm deadlines.
