IT Quality Assurance Engineer III

Location: San José, Costa Rica

World Kinect is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Quality Assurance Engineer III to join our team in San José. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.

Role Overview

As a QA Engineer III, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of our software products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, refine requirements, and manage scalable automated testing frameworks. Your work will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our global technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated and manual test plans to validate software functionality and performance
• Create and maintain project test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect counts, test results, and status reports
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure features meet defined acceptance criteria
• Document and assist in resolving software issues and defects
• Analyze data for process evaluation and integrate improvements into business workflows
• Collaborate with development, business, and support teams to ensure alignment on quality standards
• Lead product demos and contribute to release documentation including FAQs and training materials
• Apply lessons learned from problem management to enhance future testing strategies
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior QA team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles
• Strong understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent analytical thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work independently and handle complex issues with minimal supervision
• Leadership skills and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement
