What you will do?
The accounting lead is a key member of the RTR Team, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. The person in this role is responsible for being the first escalation point of contact for internal and external customers and tracking, evaluating, and correcting the operational performance of the RTR team.
Act as a subject Matter Expert for General accounting-related processes, to provide guidance and develop technical skills & knowledge of other junior analysts.
Perform complex account reconciliations and MEC processes and complex accounting issues
Identify and lead opportunities to improve, automate, simplify, or standardize processes; creates projects to execute on those opportunities.
Coordinate closing and other key deliverables assigned by Supervisor.
Review and approve Journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements as assigned.
Build monitor and report operational metrics to Supervisor and Management on a regular basis.
Assess training requirements for new/ or existing team members.
Ensures documentation of processes and procedures is properly updated and approved.
Responsible to execute assigned SOX controls and other activities related to internal and external audit requirements.
Work closely with markets and local accounting teams to resolve discrepancies, issues, and queries in a timely manner by escalating to Supervisor as required.
Supports ad-hoc tasks and requests as needed.
What you need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with a strong accounting background.
4-5+ years of relevant working experience in similar roles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Intermediate level: PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts, formulas, etc.)
English level B2+
Experience of working in a shared service center across a global /large organization/ matrixed international company (preferably an American or Multinational company) will be an added advantage.
SAP and Black Line systems knowledge are a plus
Working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX is a plus
