A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads production team work process, equipment testing, manufacturing, disassembly, and reassembly as assigned by supervisor.
  • Prioritizes use of operators according to build schedule.
  • Communicates process issues and provides status updates to team supervisor.
  • Coaches operators/assemblers on production and problem solving skills, performing technical review and machinery setup/breakdown as needed.
  • Monitor the machining line and some other manufacturing line, to check for work rate compliance and record progress and related problems.
  • Notify the manufacturing engineer or your production supervisor of problems causing variations or delays in production.
  • Ensures Medtronic company quality and safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications - Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  •  Minimum of 8 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
  • Machinist or related technician level II - III.
  • Manufacturing environments regulated by FDA or ISO 13485:2003 and CFR 820 CGMPs preferred.
  • Advanced student of engineering, management or related university degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge intermediate or advanced computer skills (Windows environment and MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, CMES).
  • 12 months in current position.
  • No disciplinary actions in the last 12 months.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge in NCR research.
  • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), 5s and Lean Manufacturing.
  • knowledge proficiency in manufacturing systems used to collect data and control/monitor processes. , For example, SAP, Kronos, or related.
  • knowledge and understanding of Global and Local policies and procedures were relevant to Quality which includes compliance & regulatory, FDA, GMP, control for manufacturing Medical Devices, ISO 13485, and quality systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and Spanish com
