DescriptionThe SYSS Engineering Group in Latin America provides fully engineered control system solutions for power and process plants in the Americas. The group focuses on installing and replacing plant control systems with Emerson DCS’s (Delta V & Ovation) and Reliability and SCADA Solutions providing engineering design, system integration, testing and commissioning services to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the group with responsibilities of participating in projects supporting regional offices such us Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and also US Offices.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Project Engineer role:
- With minimal direction can design some non-complex solutions.
- Designs and implements hardware database, logics, graphics and datalinks.
- With guidance selects hardware and software for project implementation.
- Review application documentation for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Work closely with project technical leader/s to verify the project requirements are met accordingly.
- Solve technical problems through the combination of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures, experience, or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Work closely with partners to meet the project requirements and deadlines.
- Consistently shows ability to accurately communicate with customers.
- Constantly works proactively and independently.
- Successful execution of assigned projects/services and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Execute project tasks/site services according to quality, delivery date and assigned budget.
- Lead activities like factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup.
Technical Lead role:
- Lead implementation team that works in different plant processes and applications (O&G, Chemical, Mining Power, etc.) participating in the project phases such as In-house Engineering, FAT and SAT).
- Successful execution of assigned projects and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Responsible of Functional Design (Hardware and Software) including reverse Engineering in Retrofit Projects.
- Develop Implementation and Commissioning Plans and align them with Project Requirements.
- Supervise Remote Engineering teams.
- Support the supervision of Subcontractors during Engineering, and Commissioning Phases.
- Lead Low- Medium Complexity Commissioning and Plant Startups and being able to act a Site Leader of a small group of 1-3 Engineers.
- Solve technical problems through the combination of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures, experience, or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Track project’s progress, budget performance and risk assessment and issue weekly reports.
- Consistently shows ability to accurately communicate with customers.
- Constantly works proactively and independently.
Team Contribution:
- Actively participates in the acquisition of knowledge and experience through partnering with more senior technical staff members (SME teams).
- Mentor less experienced partners as required.
- Contribute to update department’s technical documentation as required.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and Innovation activities.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Engineering degree in related field.
- Travel time up-to 60%.
- Intermediate level of English.
- At least 4 years of experience in DCS or PLC/SCADA in Industrial Automation.
- At least 4 FAT and 4 Commissioning.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- A good business understanding and the ability to work effectively with internal and external
customers.
