Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Accountable for:

  • Assure BU's resources have the training, skills and knowledge required to execute job function.
  • Assure production goals and KPI’s are achieved as planned and communicate results to his team members in a daily basis.
  • Assure optimizing of Business Unit Performance
  • Assure Payroll Administration in Kronos is completed and approved on a weekly basis, as established.  
  • Assure EH&S indicators are achieved and improved by identifying, implementing, and executing corrective actions.
  • Assure execution of communication meetings, safety, gowning and lockers audits, ETR compliance, process audits, calibration and preventive maintenance as established.
  • Identify and communicate resources needs for manufacturing.
  • Generate reports and charts to monitor Mfg. KPIs.
  • Generate, initiate resolution, and assist in the investigation for non-conformances (NCRs, DPMs & CPMs) following NCR systems (eQMS).
  • Identify, communicate, and assist in the troubleshooting process when processes and/or equipment are not performing as expected. 
  • Assure people management through proactive HR intervention, employee conflicts resolution, people development, coaching techniques as per internal policies. 
  • Assure Vacations & Overtime Administration for Non- Exempt is programmed and executed following internal policy.
  • Verifying and assign Preventive Maintenance tasks effectiveness in Manufacturing.
  • Audits for Regulatory Compliance 
  • 6S ROLESS audits execution and performance of the shift
  • Non-Conformance WIP Management
  • Creates purchase requisition orders.
  • Works on major projects impacting positively the different KPIs of manufacturing area. 
  • Execute Human Error NCRs investigations.
  • Execute performance evaluation for Operative Personnel (including technical positions)
  • Executing interviews for Operative Personnel (including technical positions) 
  • Leads and Supports Strategic Sessions for the Manufacturing area: SWOT, VMOST, etc.
  • Create the Shut Down structure with all the necessary activities to be performed in manufacturing area.
  • Create Capital Expense when it is necessary.
  • Manage the CAPEX account when it is necessary.
  • Perform and drive CAPA actions.
  • Perform SWOT activity with the group in alignment with Manufacturing Manager 
  • Perform Gallup actions defined.
  • Lead key cost reduction projects for the manufacturing area.
  • Approval participation in internal ECOs, DCOs, APPs, POS, JD and all related to manufacturing activities.

 

Assist in:

  • Creation troubleshooting guidelines and/or applicable SOPs for process and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Designing and Coordinating Engineering Tests/ Q's
  • Executing Engineering Tests/ Q's
  • Documenting and Reporting Results of Engineering Tests/ Q's
  • Assuring Readiness of Manufacturing Requirements for the Product Transfer
  • Identifying Opportunities for Improvements in Equipment Performance
  • Implements Equipment Upgrades and Optimization Changes
  • Document all Equipment Changes
  • Assuring Adherence to Values
  • Supports and leads Regulatory Audits, Quality Culture, OpEx and EHS initiatives.
  • Support Process Improvement Department when PMs schedule must be created.
  • Monthly support in Manufacturing Council meeting
  • Point of contact between Manufacturing Leads and Manufacturing Manager when it is needed.

 

Actively Participates in:

  • Analyzing Cost per unit budget
  • Quarterly Forecast
  • WIP and FG Inventories Targets
  • Year-end physical inventory 
  • Define Tactics for NCRs, DPM & CPM Metric
  • Monitor Supplier's Performance
  • Defining and prioritizing Process KPIs for improvement
  • Developing control mechanism to ensure Process KPIs consistency.
  • Providing technical solutions that increase utilization and reduce costs.
  • Minimizing service interruptions and avoid unplanned downtime on manufacturing lines.
  • Receiving and implementing Product and Equipment Transfer
  • Observing, Analyzing, Documenting & Recommending the Start-up of Product Transfer
  • Early involvement in LS/ Optimization Efforts with Technical Innovations (ROI)
  • Assuring Readiness of Manufacturing Requirements for the Optimization Efforts
  • Observing, Analyzing, Documenting & Recommending the Start-up of Optimization Changes
  • Final selection of resources
  • Team Dynamics Improvement 
  • Prepare Training Module for skills certifications.
  • Procedure Approval for skills certifications
  • Provide Capabilities to Work Unit
  • Drive and control account designated such as CAPEX for the department
  • Actively participate in the Operational Excellence programs, including their forums and activities, while promoting and supporting the culture of continuous improvement within the organization


Qualifications

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Safety Regulation knowledge
  • Quality Systems Regulations knowledge of ISO13485
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills (English / Spanish)
  • High level of verbal, numerical and diagrammatical reasoning ability
  • Effective people management skills in a team working culture
  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and responsible person

Work Environment:

  • Generally, works in a clean room environment with a level of noise between the equipment and the machinery (minor than 85 decibels) and controllable changes in temperature.
  • Most of the time he/she stands, walks, bend the body, use hands to finger, handle or fell and sit to realize the job.
  • Performs light physical effort with some exposure to extreme cold, wet, or humid conditions.
  • Works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Applies communication skills to perform work and coordinate with others.
  • Utilizes vision all the time in all aspects (close, distance, focus, etc.)
  • Utilizes a high analytical capacity and high level of professionalism to resolve problems.
  • May be exposed to fumes, gases, or strong odors (non-toxic)

Experience:

  • At least +5 years of experience in similar responsibilities in a regulated industry (medical devices/pharmaceutical/food)

Education:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Engineering is required.
  • Quality and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
