Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Techniques:
· Develops the abilities of lower-level technicians, like performing complex internal and external procedures as well as the management of out of tolerance conditions observed during the execution of any procedure.
· Performs procedures with a moderate and high degree of difficulty.
· Performs the planned activities of maintenance/calibration according to the approved methods and documentation.
· Participates in the transfer of new production lines.
· Knows the installation and validation process of the equipment required in the area assigned under the established guidelines.
· Can provide technical assistance and guidance to lower level technicians.
· Provides support and follows instructions from the Lead Technician, Production Equipment Repair & Maintenance.
Exclusive for Calibration positions:
· Performs calibrations to dimensional equipment using equipment such as optical comparator, vision system and/or pattern blocks.
· Performs calibration to equipment which indicates pressure and temperature with a moderate and high degree of difficulty and by using the Standards, thermocouples and connectors.
· Calibrates scales, timers and tachometers by using the standards.
Exclusive for Maintenance positions:
· Is responsible for the adjustments/setups of the manufacturing equipment and their corresponding documentation.
· Supports manufacturing with equipment and machinery repair on time.
Exclusive for Planning positions:
· Develop maintenance plans and schedules for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
· Coordinate planned work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure minimal impact on operations.
· Ensure all work orders contain complete and accurate information, including cause, action taken, materials used, labor time, and follow‑up actions.
· Keep maintenance documentation updated, including PM plans, job plans, task lists, and equipment master data.
· Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for improvement.
· Ensure all planned work complies with safety regulations, GMPs and internal policies.
· Create and optimize job plans, including tools, PPE, estimated duration, required skills, and safety considerations.
· Follow up on overdue work orders and ensure proper closure and documentation in the CMMS.
· Support technicians with CMMS use, training, and troubleshooting related to work orders and documentation.
· Participate in audits and support continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes and asset reliability.
Documentation:
· Enters his/her daily tasks in eCMMS or in the system assigned for that purpose.
· Follows the routines procedures to perform his/her tasks.
· Enters the information of the completed routines in the system (MAXIMO).
· Labels and identifies the equipment in which he/she performs routines.
· Follows the Good Manufacturing Practices procedures (GMPs).
Exclusive for Calibration positions:
· Records the readings obtained in the measuring on the calibration certificates.
· Applies the regulations stated by the metrology international standards such as ISO, Guide 25, ANSI and others.
Organization:
· Comply with the safety policies and procedures.
· Ensures compliance with the responsibilities of the environmental management systems (EMS).
· Follows the convenient policies of management of information records of J&J and of the Campus, records retention program, training and education, document retention notices, record cleaning, inactive records and information management, vital records and if applicable, also to suppliers.
· Monitors all the safety policies of the company and other safety precautions within the place of work.
· Maintains his/her place of work clean and organized.
· Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
· Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
· For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
· Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Degree of studies as a technician or trainee engineer preferably in the specialty areas such as electro- mechanics, electronics, etc.
• Desirable studies: Electromechanical Technician or Instrumentalist Technician.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience preferably related to this position.
• Strong knowledge of blocking and safe handling of energy (lock out-tag out).
• Knowledge of Mechanics and Electricity.
• Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Use and application of programs in Windows and MS Office.
• Ability to read and understand English, at least 50%
• Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) / ISO preferably.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, documentation, calibration procedures and quality systems preferably.
· Exclusive for Planning positions:
• Proficiency in IBM Maximo, including creation, updating and closing of work orders, preventive maintenance management, and data entry accuracy.
