Definition

This position has the responsibility of supporting file based workflows within the Paramount Media Technology division Daily work obligations include responding to support requests collaborating with engineering on resolution validating solutions updating documentation

There is an expectation that team members are very self sufficient when engaged in assignments representing the company by themselves or asking engineering for input always ensuring customer satisfaction through high quality work and outstanding client care

Strong experience in a multidisciplined team is critical as is the ability to clearly communicate complex technology solutions

Major Responsibilities

Interface with internal support team or users on issues raised to Media Technology

Collaborate with internal or external teams to identify address potential issues with transcoding auto QC or content delivery

Maintain knowledge of cloud compute software and network within environment

Maintain internal documentation regarding system information escalation paths create runbook for issues that have had RCA

Engage directly with all necessary Paramount teams to address issues with software cloud computing storage and networking that affect Media Technology systems

Work to maintain media encoding transcoding platforms to ensure quality performance and reliability

Skill Requirements Experience and Education

Job Skills

Must have strong understanding of video audio timed text used in a content supply chain

Knowledge of server operating systems such as Linux Windows Server is required

Required Skills

Excellent customer service and overall communication skills are essential

Ability to work in JIRA Slack to monitor and respond to support cases

Experience working in a customerservice oriented environment processing user requests and collaborating with software development or engineering teams to provide new solutions

Experience manipulating audio video and subtitles via API JSON or command line to automate transcoding or subtitle processing

Understanding of containers such as MOV MXF MP4 or MPEG2 Transport Stream and what formats of video audio and data are required for multiplexing for a specific application

Familiarity of different video codecs such as AVC H264 HEVC H265 ProRes or MPEG2 and audio codecs like BWF AAC AC3 EAC3

Comprehension of the frame rates scan types resolutions color spaces that are used with different video standards for archive or distribution

Proficient with authoring and modifying JSON or XML to create or modify transcoding or autoqc profiles or workflows

Capability to operate and test software in a cloud environment like AWS Google or Azure as serverless Linux or Windows instances

Selfmotivated and able to perform directed tasks under minimal supervision

Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment

Desirable Skills

Experience with cloud based transcoding systems leveraging compute instances with cloudbased storage

An understanding of PublicPrivateHybrid Cloud solutions and experienced in integrating public cloud into traditional hostingdelivery models with a specific focus on AWS

Knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Frameworks

Proficiency with filebased audio manipulation using mixing mapping upmix downmix or loudness correction

Capable of automating subtitling captioning conversions using formats such as EBU STL SCC IMSC TTML Lambca CAP VTT or SRT

Experience with advanced technologies such as IMF Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos

Working knowledge of modern scripting languages Perl Ruby Python PowerShell

Understanding of API protocols

Working knowledge of Windows Mac Linux server and desktop based operating systems and familiarity of production software Apple Pro Apps Avid Adobe

Thorough knowledge of shared storage technologies such as Network Attached Storage or object based cloudbased storage technologies

Experience working in a Agile Scrum team

Experience working in a global team

Experience Professional industry experience with 3 years of direct business involvement Academic experience with filebased media also considered

Education Bachelors degree preferred relevant fieldwork required Technical certifications pertaining to position highly recommended
