The Position
As a Payroll Senior Specialist, you will execute timely and accurate system data maintenance and administrative activities, supporting payroll, tax, social insurance, and time-related business processes. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of People & Culture Support Solutions through interaction analysis and collaboration with other functions. This role demands a strong customer focus, exceptional communication skills, and a solution-oriented approach.
Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery: Execute system data maintenance and administrative activities in support of People & Culture business processes in the areas of Payroll and Time.
- Provide customer service on P&C-related activities, such as inquiry resolution, request management, and troubleshooting.
- Supports P&C Chapter in system maintenance activities.
- Advise P&C and business partners on local P&C systems and processes, and support the embedding of the new ways of working.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and advisory to first level support teams.
- Be up to date on processes, own the knowledge development on processes, and contribute to the update of relevant documentation (SWIs, SOP, GWIs).
- Participating and partially leading project activities as required.
- Display high integrity on the job and comply with the Roche guidelines, including data privacy rules and regulations.

- Support quality control processes and improvement initiatives arising out of them.
- Ensure consistent and reliable service delivery for customers serviced.
- Take responsibility for each task and be decision driven oriented wherever possible.
Who you are:
- Minimum of 3 years payroll processing experience, preferably supporting the U.S. and Canada. Knowledge of U.S. tax laws, preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience in Pay and Time operations/processes.
- Proven track record of being able to deliver in a matrix organization.
- Experience in a team and service delivery or customer care environment.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment, handling multiple competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) are essential. Additional languages a plus, based on region/customer requirements.
- Experienced and efficient handling of standard IT applications, preferably Google suite, and knowledge of Workday.
