The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Manager, Security Systems & Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and global oversight of physical security technologies across all corporate, R&D, manufacturing, and distribution sites. This includes managing electronic security systems such as access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection with a strong focus on scalability, regulatory compliance, and technology integration. The role is critical to maintaining the safety of personnel and protection of intellectual property in a highly regulated, global medtech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global strategy and lifecycle management of physical security systems, ensuring alignment with regional needs and global risk frameworks.
- Manage operations of enterprise-wide security technologies, including access control (Lenel OnGuard) and video surveillance (Genetec Security Center), ensuring system standardization across regions.
- Ensure compliance with international regulatory and privacy requirements including FDA, HIPAA, GDPR, and local country-specific standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, Legal, HR, Procurement, Legal, Operations teams to ensure seamless integration and governance of security systems.
- Direct global security system projects including new site builds, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for global security vendors and integrators, ensuring consistent SLAs and service quality worldwide.
- Maintain centralized documentation and asset inventories, including system architecture, SOPs, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Lead and develop a team of outsourced technology professionals, facility security coordinators and regional stakeholders.
- Monitor system health, performance, and analytics to identify trends and drive continuous improvements globally.
- Manage global budget planning and forecasting for security systems operations and capital investments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Security Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing physical security systems in a regulated, multi-site, global organization.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-level Lenel OnGuard and Genetec Security Center platforms is required.
- Strong working knowledge of physical security design, access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and integration with IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with global compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Proven track record in vendor management and cross-cultural team coordination.
- Ability to lead complex projects across time zones, languages, and regulatory landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PSP (ASIS), CPP, PMP, or manufacturer certifications in Lenel or Genetec.
- Experience in corporate manfuacturing sector.
- Background in IT-security collaboration or converged security environments.
- Multilingual capabilities or experience working with international stakeholders.
