JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join Plan A. This is a high-impact role for a professional who combines rigorous delivery management with technical fluency and leadership capabilities.
You will be a strategic partner to our clients and a leader for our engineering teams. You will bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of experience in Project Management within the software development industry and proven experience working in an outsourcing/agency environment  to be considered for this role.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY 
1. Project Delivery & Governance
  • End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Manage the full project lifecycle from Initiation to Close. You will oversee all project phases, from SOW creation through written approval for project closure.
  • Budget & Scope Control: Strictly monitor project budgets and scope alignment against the SOW on a weekly basis. You will execute Project Change Request (PCR) procedures when necessary to manage scope creep.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential issues before they become critical maintaining project documentation and holding regular risk management meetings, devising mitigation strategies to ensure project stability.
  • Documentation Standards: Maintain the project documentation in accordance with Plan A’s internal audit standards.
2. Technical Leadership & Client Partnership
  • Technical Context: Act as a peer to the Development Leads and Solution Architects. You must be able to understand technical constraints, discuss architecture, and translate "developer speak" into business value for the client without needing to write code yourself.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. You will manage expectations and handle escalations to ensure engagement levels are monitored.
  • Backlog & Requirements: Prioritize requirements and maintain the product backlog. You will ensure customer wishes are accurately transferred into executable tasks.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Team Health: Conduct regular 1-1 calls with team members to monitor motivation and health. You are responsible for maintaining high motivation levels among developers and handling conflict situations.
  • PM Guidance: Oversee junior and mid-level PMs, providing guidance on Plan A’s delivery processes. 
  • Process Compliance: Ensure everyone within the given team adheres to corporate processes, including time tracking and security protocols.
4. Strategic & Operational Excellence
  • Pre-Sales Support: Assist the Account Manager and Sales team with pre-sales meetings, estimations, and preparation of proposal artifacts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish a continuous improvement process within your projects and identify opportunities to make Plan A more efficient.
  • Automation: Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks using appropriate tools and scripting to increase efficiency.

EXPERIENCE
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management within the software development industry. 3+ years of experience as a Program Manager.
  • Proven experience working in an outsourcing/agency environment is mandatory. You must understand the dynamics of billable hours, client service, and SOW management.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams (Developers, QAs, BAs, Architects).
  • Prior experience as a QA, Developer, or Business Analyst, or a degree in Computer Science, is highly preferred. You must be "technically literate."
  • Proven ability to understand client requests and/or frustration, along with team management skills to make sure that internal teams operate in a healthy environment
  • Ability to understand API integrations, SDLC, cloud infrastructure basics, and deployment processes (CI/CD) to have meaningful conversations with engineers.
  • Deep understanding of project P&L, budget vs. actuals tracking, and resource utilization.
  • Expert-level knowledge of JIRA (configuring workflows, backlogs) and Confluence (documentation structure).
  • Strong ability to remain calm under pressure, facilitate emergency situations, and manage critical escalations.
  • Exceptional English (C1/C2 level) with the ability to negotiate, persuade, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solver, and analytical abilities
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Advanced Scrum Master (A-CSM/PSM II) certifications.
  • Automation: Basic scripting skills or experience with low-code automation tools to streamline PM workflows.
  • Account Growth: Experience in identifying up-selling opportunities and assisting Account Managers in growing the client portfolio.
